Historic Deerfield is a restored Colonial American Village in the Connecticut River Valley of Massachusetts. An important area in early New England history, dating back to the 17th Century, it is a place where visitors can discover the spirit of Colonial America.

Almost everything along the town's one-mile-long Main Street is an artifact of one kind or another. The houses and buildings are original structures from the 18th & 19th Centuries. Each is filled with an extraordinary collection of early furniture, silver, textiles, ceramics, and many wonderful examples of antique lighting, from which Period Lighting's Deerfield Collection is drawn.

Old Sturbridge Village is the showplace of a remarkable collection of Americana, displayed and remembered in exceptional ways. It is an outdoor history museum which presents the story of everyday life in a rural New England town during the 1830's.

 

The landscape is re-created with original buildings brought to the museum site from all parts of the region.

Old Sturbridge Village also has an extensive collection of period antiques and furnishings, many of which are on permanent display in their exhibit galleries. They are also fortunate to have one of the most extensive collections of early lighting to be found anywhere.
